Dear JCI Senators and guests,
During this years’ JCI Lithuania National convention Senators and foreign guest program we invite you to visit a special nature and architectural synthesis – Pažaislis ensemble – which dates back to the 17th – 18th century. Honor for this mirackle belongs to Kristupas Zigmantas Pacas – Grand Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. He was the founder and the main sponsor of Pažaislis church and monestry construction. This beautiful and magical area was named Peace Mountain (Mons Pacis).
This ensemble is considered to be one of the best examples of baroque architecture in Northern and Eastern Europe. It is one of two curently existing monasteries and churches ensembles in Lithuania. Now this monastery is declared a cultural monument, and since 1996th an annual music festival is organized there.
We invite you to join a visit to an outstanding synthesis of arcitecture and nature. Not to mention by how many stories and legends suround this place. Did you know that in this monestry lived lithuanian poet Antanas Strazdas? Or that it was visited by russian Tsar Nicholas I? And what legends tell about the army of Napoleon?
